Right Brain – Left Brain is it a Myth?

‘Oh, you’re such a right brain thinker!’
Oh, you are so left brained!’
Guess, what? There is no such thing! 🙂
This myth holds that a right-brain person is generally creative, intuitive, artsy, while a left-brain person is more of a problem-solver, more logical. The myth had it’s roots in science but the sides of the brain are very interdependent.
The two hemispheres actually work in tandem. Language was once believed to be a left brain activity and while the left side does handle grammar and pronunciation, the right side controls intonation. In addition it was once believed the right side processed spatial ability and research has revealed that the right side deals with general sense of space and the left handles objects in specific locations.
It is true, however, that the left brain controls the right side of the body and vice versa. However, it is a myth that your personality displays a right or left brain dominance. 🙂
