Is Speed Reading Beneficial?

2016-10-22T09:06:20+00:00

Speed reading is a technique that allows you to take in the printed word just like you take in images while watching a movie. It allows you to read an entire magazine or book at speeds that can amount to two to ten times faster than the average rate. You learn to condition the right side of your brain to view the words instead of sounding them out on the left side. This completely changes how your brain processes information.

Cross-training Your Brain

2016-10-22T09:06:20+00:00

Are you dominant on the left side of your brain or the right? You may think you know, since left-brain thinkers are more creative while those right-brain thinkers are more analytical, but it is not always clear-cut. In fact, most people are a combination of both, and I would like to help you get the “neglected” side to work for you as well.

2016-10-22T09:06:20+00:00

Hello, I am Ron White, the National Memory Champion for 2009 and 2010. I have been helping students get better grades for over 20 years, and would like to share some basic tips to help you improve your grades, and your memory. You may think the ones who get the best grades in school are the smartest ones, but actually they may not be. The difference is the ones with the best grades have learned how to develop study skills that help them to retain what they learn and do well in college.

Brain Food – Eat Your Way To A Stronger Mind

2016-10-22T09:06:20+00:00

The right food (fuel) will help your memory, allow you to concentrate better, keep you on top of things, reduces stress, and even prevents deterioration of brain cells from dementia. The wrong foods will have the opposite effect – like feeling that you’re in a “fog,” memory lapses, and an overall feeling that you’re just not right.

Ron White on Speed Reading For Dummies

2016-10-22T09:06:19+00:00

Speed-reading is not just for geeks. The average person can learn to speed read. Most people waste a lot of time reading things without really understanding what they read. They skim over a page or newspaper just to get the highlights, and only stop to read something that catches the eye. You have to admit; when you do this you miss a lot.

DeStress The SAT by Playing Games!

2016-10-22T09:06:19+00:00

Taking any test is stressful, but the SAT is like the granddaddy of all stressors for a teenager. Parents just don’t get it sometimes. They are putting pressure on their child to do well in school, get into a good college, and live up to their expectations. Kids want to be their own person, and believe it or not, they probably put more pressure on themselves than you can. They don’t need you on their back telling them they aren’t doing well – they already know that. Those who are good students feel they could do better, and those who aren’t know they aren’t. You don’t have to stay on their back to push them further. Don’t underestimate your child!

Acknowledging and Preserving Albert Einstein’s Legacy

2016-10-22T09:06:19+00:00

Ron White the 2 time National Memory Champion Acknowledging and Preserving Albert Einstein’s Legacy I have been fascinated by Albert Einstein and his extraordinary life, mind and views most of my life – so much so that I created a program about him entitled ‘How to Develop The Mind of Einstein’. On March 13,2005 the American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) celebrated the 100th anniversary of the publishing of three of Einstein’s most notable works, including the Theory of Relativity (E=mc2), with a conference on his formidable legacy, and his impact on our lives.

Learning Language and Memory Skills Outside of the Classroom

2016-10-22T09:06:19+00:00

Children learn languages much faster than adults, so learning another language – such as Spanish; can be easier when they are young. As a matter of fact, with our shrinking world due to technology and networking learning another language can be very useful tool in the job market as well as socially. Since many countries speak Spanish, it is a good choice to begin.
